Bozava is located on the north-western side of the island and lies in a bay surrounded by pine trees and is the most developed tourist resort on the island. The place is characterized by beautiful beaches, coves and clear waters. The town has a post office, a bakery, a kiosk in the hotel and two grocery stores.
Bozava is first mentioned in the year 1327 under the name Bosane, while the remains of fortified settlements near the site date back to the Illyrians. Although the villagers are diligent farmers and fishermen, Bozava is attractive to visitors because of the accommodational possibilities in the hotel complex, which consists of four attractive hotels. Also, accommodation is available in private rooms and apartments. In addition, accommodation is provided to yachtsmen in the port where there are berths and you can get water and electricity. During the summer, visitors are provided transportation to the famous beach Sakarun with a tourist train, which is an excellent opportunity to experience the beauty of the island. From the landmarks you should see the Bozava parish church of St. Nicholas from the 9th century, the church of St. Sunday dating back to the 17th century and the church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
